Alberta Legislature Report on Bill 211 Released

The Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship has released its report on Bill 211 recommending that the bill proceed. The committee's decision came after meeting with industry stakeholders in February and hearing presentations from industry representatives.
Now that a provincial election has been called, Bill 211 will unfortunately not receive another reading by the legislature. However, since an election was always going to be called, the goal has always been a recommendation by the Resource Stewardship Committee. The committee's report provides a big step forward for when the Legislative Assembly reconvenes following the provincial election. The report will help get comprehensive damage prevention legislation tabled at last in the Alberta Legislature.
You can read the committee's report on the legislative assembly website.
If you would like to read the transcripts from the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship meetings, they are available on the committee's page.
We'd like to thank everyone who submitted letters of support and who came out to the committee's meeting in February to support Bill 211. Your support was instrumental in Bill 211 receiving the committee's approval.
Sincerely,
All of us at the ABCGA
