To date in 2025, the BCCGA Education Committee has created a member event calendar and selected dates for four Underground Disturbance breakfasts. The first one will be held in Coquitlam, March 12, 2025.
In November, we will hold an afternoon event for those in the agrology, farmer, landscaper line of work, sharing the importance of safe underground disturbance, Rights of Way (ROW), and the need to contact BC 1Call. This has been an area of great concern, highlighted by members and survey respondents.
Dig Safe courses are being planned in conjunction with the breakfast events. These will be handled through Global Training.
Our BCCGA events are now recognized by both HPO and Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) to assign CPD or CEU points to event attendees.
BCCGA will host motivational speaker Jack Thomas who will share his personal story highlighting the critical importance of safe practices, expecially when working around underground utilities. Check our website for details and Zoom contact info.
