The Dig Safe Fund has been created and will be used to fund the attendance of individuals (specifically excavators/contractors/nonprofit affiliates) who would not otherwise be able to attend the CCGA Damage Prevention Symposium due to financial restrictions. This fund will allow us to have a more diverse audience, with a broader range of perspectives and conversations. This fund is new to the symposium and its goal is to assist attendees from our industry to be able to attend the symposium who would not be able to attend. The CCGA invites all stakeholders of the excavating community across Canada, their affiliates, and their associations to make contributions to the Dig Safe Fund.
Our vision for Saskatchewan is to see more of the excavators and contractors attend and join our discussions. We have been told that the biggest barrier for local contractors or excavators is the cost of the conference, as small business owners may be able to make time to attend but might not be able to afford the extra money it takes to commit. Our proposal to symposium for 2024 is to create a fund — the Dig Safe Fund to be exact. This way, nominal contributions of any amount will help to send local excavators, contractors or nonprofit afffiliates to the symposium. This is the first time we have offered the program and we are excited to see the response.
Starting at $500, your contribution can increase to any amount. We will have an application form that will be communicated to Saskatchewan based contractors/excavators to seek interested applicants; all a new work in progress.
When you contribute to the Dig Safe Fund, your company logo will appear on the event website and your contribution will be announced during symposium. We thank you in advance for your contributions and commitment to the overall shared responsibility in excavaton damage prevention across Canada!
