The annual Canadian Association of Pipeline and Utility Locating Contractors (CAPULC) Safety Conference provides an oppertunity to connect with members from the pipeline, petroleum, utilities, locating, surveying and ground disturbance communities. Check out the newest equipment from their exhibitors and learn about the latest technologies and topics at their educational workshops.
This year's Safety Conference includes a full trade show and their first National Locate Rodeo. The locate rodeo is a competition for underground facility locating professionals to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and professionalism that they use daily to prevent damage to underground facilities and keep our communities safe.

The Trenchless Technology Road Show in Richmond, BC will take place May 7 to 8 at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel.
The show provides technical presentations and exhibits to demonstrate the latest advances in trenchless technology. Moreover, there are three pre-event technical workshops on May 6. Topics covered include methods and materials for planning, design, installation, assessment and management of water and wastewater systems.

The new system for submitting locate requests in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba went live on January 31. The PelicanCorp software features several changes from the previous system, and changes to how locate requests are handled were introduced as the notification centres in BC, Alberta and Manitoba aligned their business practices.
These changes include new ticket types and changes to exisiting ticket types, a new mapping system and preconfigured fields. In addition, the Dig Info AB mobile app is no longer available as of January 31.

Effective March 2019, Ontario One Call will be moving any requests without a single civic to the web. Any requests that contain more than one civic, or have no civic associated, will not be processed over the phone.
