Safety and Health Week, also known as North America Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSH), is from May 5 to 11. The goal of Occupational Safety and Health Week is to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and in the community.

The Trenchless Technology Road Show in Richmond, B.C. will take place May 6 to 8 at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel.
The show provides technical presentations and exhibits to demonstrate the latest advances in trenchless technology. Moreover, there are three pre-event technical workshops on May 6. Topics covered include methods and materials for planning, design, installation, assessment and management of water and wastewater systems.

TransCanada would like to recognize youth from not-for-profit organizations for committing to safe digging practices when undergoing improvement projects in their communities. TransCanada’s goal is to teach the next generation the importance of calling/clicking before digging. The Youth Energy Safe Award can be earned by submitting a completed application form and a W-9 form. Once received, the application will be reviewed and could be eligible for a charitable grant of $1,000.

The Canadian Association of Pipeline and Utility Locating Contractors (CAPULC) just wrapped up its 2019 Safety Conference, which included the association's very first Locate Rodeo! The event was held April 17 and 18 at Festival Place in Sherwood Park, Alberta. It was a big success and had excellent attendance from a diverse group of people in the industry throughout Canada.
