CDA members and dam owners involved in the hydroelectric sector should be aware that Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has launched consultation on proposed development of a Canada Clean Electricity Standard, in support of the government commitment for Canada to achieve a net-zero electricity grid by 2035. The associated federal discussion paper details that hydroelectric power will be important, given its key role as a non-emitting source of generation.
