Yukon – Whitehorse Dam Water Use Relicensing Project
Across Canada, approaches to regulating water supply and flows and levels for hydroelectric dam facilities vary significantly between provinces and territories. Public and stakeholder consultation and Indigenous engagement is often a key component of such regulatory review processes. In some cases, such as boundary waters with the United States, Canadian federal regulatory agencies also play a role.
For example, Yukon Energy is currently undertaking public consultation in support of its application for water use licensing of its Whitehorse Dam facility.
