CDA is holding a workshop on emergency management for dams Feb. 24-25, 2015 in Ottawa.
The workshop will identify the existing resources for emergency preparedness and management that might be applicable to dams; discuss how communities prepare for and respond to emergencies and how dam managers might work with them; and consider what the dam community needs for the future.
The overall goal is to set the framework for potential CDA products (technical bulletins, training, etc.) that would help the dam community prepare for, respond to and recover from an emergency.
The workshop will be of benefit to dam owners, managers and regulators; emergency preparedness specialists; representatives from all three levels of government; and academics focusing on emergency preparedness and response.

The workshop will be held at the Lord Elgin Hotel in downtown Ottawa, close to the Rideau Canal, Parliament Hill, and the Byward Market.
