CDA Conference 2016 – Abstracts Due January 30

The 2016 Conference Committee hopes that you will share your expertise and knowledge by submitting an abstract for this year’s conference to be held Oct. 15 to 20 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
This year’s conference theme is Bringing Dams into the Future. Some
possible topics related to the theme may include:
- Managing Aging Infrastructure;
- Updating Dams to Meet Changing Design Criteria;
- Emerging Technologies;
- Environmental Consequences of Dam Operation and Failure;
- Decommissioning and Closure - Challenges and Opportunities; and
- Implications of Climate Change for Dams - Review of Current State of Practice.
Papers may focus on current practices, technical innovations, case histories of successful projects, lessons learned from failures or academic research. Members are also invited to submit papers on the following topics:
- Dam Safety Reviews - Case Studies;
- Public Safety Around Dams;
- Emergency Management;
- Ice Management Strategies and Innovations;
- Flow Control Equipment Access and Reliability; and
- Design and Construction Challenges.
Potential presenters are invited to email a 300-word abstract in either English or French by January 30 to 2016Technical@cda.ca.
