The Ontario Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act (LRIA) Maintaining Water Management Plans Technical Bulletin was approved and a Decision Notice was posted to the Environmental Registry on October 7, 2016. Interested members can download a copy of the Bulletin.

The Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act (LRIA) provides the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry with the legislative authority to govern the design, construction, operation, maintenance and safety of dams in Ontario. The Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act Administrative Guide and supporting technical bulletins are prepared to provide direction to Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry staff responsible for application review and approval and guidance to applicants who are seeking approval under Section 14, 16, 17.2 and 23.1 of the LRIA. All technical bulletins in this series must be read in conjunction with the overarching Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act Administrative Guide (2011).
