CDA knows that students are in more financial need in 2020 than ever before and that is why it is so important that readers reach out to students who are pursuing a Masters or Doctorate degree to let them know that the Canadian Dam Association is still committed to awarding its postgraduate scholarships for 2020.
About the CDA Scholarship Program
CDA offers two scholarships annually to full-time postgraduate students attending a Canadian university or college whose program of study focuses on dam safety and/or the management of dams.
The Gary Salmon Memorial Scholarship, valued at $5,000 is awarded to the top applicant and the CDA Research Scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to the runner-up. Candidates are evaluated on the relevance of their research work and the potential for the advancement of knowledge, leadership and community involvement, and academic excellence.
In addition to the cash value of the scholarships, the recipients of both the CDA Gary Salmon Memorial Scholarship and the CDA Research Scholarship will each receive the following:
- Complimentary student registration to the 2021 CDA Conference to be held in Winnipeg in the fall of 2021 (approximate value $500).
- Travel expenses from anywhere in Canada to Winnipeg to attend the 2021 Conference (in accordance with the CDA Travel and Expense policy).
- Up to three nights' paid accommodation at the conference hotel.
