The Engineering Institute of Canada has announced the recipients of its 2018 senior engineering awards and fellowship inductees. The senior awards of the EIC are the highest distinctions made by the Institute and are awarded to deserving members of its 12 constituent societies.
Five truly exceptional engineers will be presented with EIC’s engineering medals at the 2018 Awards Gala ceremony in recognition of their outstanding achievements and service to the engineering profession. In addition, 20 engineers will be inducted as EIC Fellows for their exceptional contributions to engineering in Canada.
Of the 20 engineers being awarded fellowships in EIC, two were nominated by the Canadian Dam Association.
Tony Bennett is Director, Dam Safety and Emergency Preparedness for Ontario Power Generation, based in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Bill Chin is a Principal with Klohn Crippen Berger, out of Calgary, specializing in mining dams.
The awards will be the highlight of the Institute’s Annual Gala/ Banquet to be held at the Hilton Lac-Leamy hotel in Gatineau/Ottawa on April 28, 2018. All are welcome to attend to celebrate these outstanding engineers.
