Members of the Canadian Dam Association are being asked to choose their next Vice President and eventual President in a new election.
Vying for the role are Marie-Hélène Briand, Catrin Bryan and Pierre Marquis.
CDA had the unusual situation of having no candidates for the position as of the nomination deadline in August. Subsequently, two candidates came forward before the Annual General Meeting on October 15 and a third candidate was nominated at the AGM.
Rather than holding the vote at the AGM, the membership decided to close nominations and provide an opportunity for all members to vote, via CDA’s usual process of holding elections with on-line voting.
Voting is to run from November 1 to 21. Eligible voters will receive a notice from a third-party voting system, Simply Voting, via e-mail with details on how to vote. Members are asked to check the “spam” or “junk” folders on their e-mail systems if they do not receive access to a ballot.
The candidates’ statements and more details on the election process are available from the CDA website.
