Canada – Public Consultation on Preparing for Change: Canada’s National Climate Adaptation Strategy
The federal government has launched consultation on the development of a national climate adaptation strategy, including the release of a discussion paper and the use of an online registry for the public and stakeholders to provide comments and participate in the consultation.
The impact of climate change and implications for dams and water management have been key topics of consideration at recent CDA annual conferences, including the important roles that dams can play in managing water levels. Dam owners and agencies may wish to give consideration to participating in this consultation and speaking to the important roles that dams and related infrastructure play across Canada in helping communities adapt to climate change and extreme weather events.
