President – Lorna Coutoulas

This year’s conference was a big success. I have heard so many positive comments on the speakers and topics. The new executive and I have been busy planning the 2011 conference and the education sessions. We are excited that there are new members on the executive with new ideas. There is a lot to learn and I am confident that the new executive will do a great job keeping CSAO on the leading edge in Medical Device Reprocessing to help you in your day-to-day jobs.

I will be representing CSAO at the CSA Sterilization Technical Committee in January 2011 in Mississauga. We are currently working on the Chemical Sterilization Document.

Every day in reprocessing we are met with challenges and have to make decisions that affect patient care. Some of our colleagues have been in the news and it has not been good news. Every day we need to remind ourselves why we have chosen this profession and remind our co-workers that the patient is what matters.

I wish all of you and your families a wonderful and safe holiday season as we look forward to 2011.
