Theta Chapter Quarterly Report

Theta chapter is heading in to our busy season. We hosted a membership meeting via OTN on February 6 where we discussed the membership numbers, welcomed new members and discussed the following points:

1. Nancy reviewed our incentive draws for membership: a) Two names from members who attended this meeting and the previous two would be eligible for a draw for a free trip, up to $1,000 each, to the CSAO annual conference and b) three recertification members who have attended the last three meetings and have passed the course will be eligible for a $300 reimbursement.
2. The education course for Theta will be May 8-11, 2013, via OTN .
3. The class room dates for 2014 were finalized for May 7-10, 2014.
4. Our third Theta Education day will be held April 26 and 27^h at the Best Western in North Bay topics include: quality systems for drapes gowns and wrappers, flexible scopes – difficulty cleaning and storage, review of basic reprocessing, and sterilization quality systems.
5. The CSAO annual conference was discussed as well as date, time location, and theme.
6. Proposed constitutional changes were discussed as well and sent to the Provincial Executive for consideration and inclusion in the fall general meeting at the Conference.
7. There was a presentation by Ian Pequegnat from Steris on the Review of the Basics- Assembly/Loading sterilizer carts/Unloading Sterilizer carts/Loading washer carts and the whys.

Michelle Bellefeuille is remaining as our newsletter editor and has produced another great one.

Our next general meeting will be held April 10, 2013, with a presentation by Roy DeMederios from Getinge on Instrument Management Systems.
