I hope everyone had a great Christmas and new year holiday season!
I wish everyone a healthy and prosperous new year! There are many exciting initiatives lying ahead this year. First, I would like to report that Nancy Aelick and I represented the CSAO at this past year's 14th annual World Healthcare Sterilization Congress in Turkey. There were many great presentations and networking opportunities. International standards are beginning to synchronize and the world has a smaller more tight knit CS community. On the other hand, there are many learning opportunities for our CSAO group and all our members and non-members working in medical device reprocessing as well as how our profession is governed and assessed. This ties into our CSAO Strategy for the next three years that the Provincial Executive is currently working toward. We require all members' participation and feedback as to how our association moves forward. Many have expressed their ideas and it is making a difference. I truly hope that this election year brings forward many new individuals and ideas into the chapter and provincial executive positions.
The CSAO's Goals will continue to be to concentrate our efforts in developing and growing in the following areas:
Communication (internal and external), Recognition and Image Building, and Education. We are developing strategic plans to improve communications, promote our image and to sustain current, as well as build additional educational resources. Through this, the CSAO will position itself as an active and viable voice for reprocessing departments nationally. This year's annual meeting resulted in some Amendment changes that further solidify our constitution.
The CSAO vision shall be to provide the members of the Association and health care facilities with organized educational opportunities, professional development, a forum for information exchange and member services in response to member identified needs and priorities, and to represent members in the professional community.
