ETA Report

Another successful MDRAO membership year is coming to a close at end of May. Since last annual report, there have been both a Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 ETA Chapter CENTRAL SERVICE OF ONTARIO MEDICAL DEVICE REPROCESSING TECHNIQUES COURSE offered and an annual Chapter rebate. These funds are primarily used to send members to the annual conference as well as support educational opportunities and meetings throughout the membership year. Special thanks to Lorna and Michael for continuing to put through and coordinate a high number of students each year at the St.Michael’s Hospital location. And special thanks to the hospital for allowing the CSAO ETA Chapter to use the conference room for lectures and MDRD department for clinical tour.

Since the last annual report, the ETA Chapter held three meetings scheduled and delivered at the most acceptable and opportune times and locations making sure that all these were accepted by the membership.

The first meeting took place on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Fibertech Canada, Mississauga Ontario. The hosts toured and presented on rigid and flexible endosopy repairs.

The second meeting took place on Saturday, November 14, 2016 at Trudell Medical in London Ontario and was a Tri-Chapter meeting. The hosts toured and presented on their instrument repair facility.

The third meeting was a seasonal networking session held at the "Mandarin Restaurant" on Thursday, December 3, 2015 and was extremely well attended by our members from various hospitals and new student members. Although scheduled as a fun/networking meeting the executive group made sure that enough time was allocated for information on the chapter and provincial activities.

The fourth meeting is a planned to take place on April 16, 2016 at SteriPro. The fifth and final meeting will be a Chapter/Provincial AGM held by OTN on Thursday, May 26, 2016. The ETA Chapter has a site booked at SickKids hospital.

I would like to take this opportunity and thank the current Chapter Executive and members for their participation and contribution to our successful meetings and work this year. I wish all a safe and enjoyable summer ahead.
