Rohan Jagasar
With over 35 years of experience in the Medical Device Reprocessing Industry, Rohan started his career at The North York General Hospital in the early 80’s. In 1985 he worked at the Scarborough Grace General Hospital and quickly did a certificate course in Central Processing in May, of 1986. He proceeds to acquiring a position as a Supervisor for C.S. Department which, at the time included Portering, Distribution and Sterile Processing as one department. He continued to attend many educational seminars and did various courses attributed to the processing of surgical instruments. In 1995 he received the position as Co-ordinator at the Scarborough General Hospital. Rohan further gained Certification in the IAHCSMM/Purdue Technical Training course, the CSAO course and the CSA Standards course. Presently he is the MDRD Co-ordinator for both the Scarborough hospitals and also teaches the Medical Device Reprocessing Course which is offered at Centennial College.
In April of 2014 Rohan was part of a committee that rearranged and help implemented the new question bank for the CSA certification exam.
In July 2014 Rohan was part of a three man team that successfully performed surgery on a 10 year old chimpanzee at the Metro Toronto Zoo. Rohan put instrumentation sets together which were all donated to the Metro Toronto Zoo.
In November of 2015 Rohan arranged the first ever Tri-Chapter meeting with Trudell Medical in London Ontario.
Recently Rohan was chosen to be one of the FACES representing the Scarborough Hospital’s newly launched Mission statement and have recently appeared in four of the Hospital’s magazines presenting articles about MDRD.
Rohan is presently the Vice-President of the ETA chapter and is also the Membership and Chapter Development representative on the provincial CSAO executive committee.
