ETA Chapter Report
JUNE 2016
As we move forward into this new membership year, 2016/17, an increase in our general membership is much anticipated. We have seen a transformation of the younger generation into the field of medical device reprocessing, and we are encouraging greater participation throughout the year. As we progress, I would like to thank the outgoing executive for their ongoing efforts over the last two years; I look forward to two more good years ahead. Please welcome the new executive, Louis Konstant (Secretary), Pablo Ramiro (VP), Jocelyn Samson (Treasurer) and myself (President). We want to welcome all new members for the 2016/17 membership year, and we hope you will all get rewarding satisfaction throughout the year as you get engaged.
Over the last six years, we have encouraged the participation of our main partners, the manufacturing industries, by moving away from the health care facilities and having them host our regular meetings. This has been a great success, and we plan to continue this venture into the next couple of years.
As the new president of our ETA chapter, I would like us to look at what we are currently doing in our facilities and obtain ideas from our peers about how to go about implementing best practices. At our meetings, I would like us to share at least one example of a best practice that we find difficult to implement and how we can achieve the best results. I would also like to continue our partnership with the other two chapters in the South and plan for an annual Tri-Chapter meeting. Any other new ideas will also be welcome.
We will try to meet in early September, possibly at Johnson and Johnson in Markham, Ontario. In October, during the CAMDR Conference, we will try to meet as an executive to plan for the future of our chapter. In December, we will host our annual dinner/meeting at the Mandarin at Yonge and Eglinton.
We wish everyone a safe and happy Summer.
Best Regards,
Rohan Jagasar
