MDRAO Education Award Recipients

3M Canada Recertification Education Award

The 3M Canada Education Award recognizes the on-going commitment of the reprocessing department technician to continuing education. 3M believes education is a significant factor in ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care and we are dedicated to supporting the efforts of these individuals to maintain and expand their knowledge throughout their careers. This award recognizes M.D.R.A.O. members who have successfully passed their recertification exam in the education year of the conference.

Steris Education Award

The recipient must be a graduate of the M.D.R.A.O. Medical Device Reprocessing Techniques Classroom Course held between June 1st to May 30th in the months preceding the conference. The recipient must have received 90% on the M.D.R.A.O. classroom written exam. The recipient must be a current member of the M.D.R.A.O. and be employed in a C. S. D. or S. P. D.

The Johnson & Johnson Medical Products Award of Excellence in Sterile Processing

Must be nominated by Manager, Supervisor or Peer (with Manager’s approval)
Has demonstrated excellence through involvement with one or more of the following: education and training in sterile processing, a special project resulting in improvement to job process or design, teaching/motivating or mentoring others, 
development and/or implementation of an innovative idea or promotion of quality improvement.

Karen Mergaert, THETA Chapter








Getinge Canada Limited Isobel Campbell Award

The Getinge Canada Isobel Campbell Award is the most prestigious honour bestowed by the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario. It is given to the person who is judged to have made a significant contribution to the Medical Device Profession.

Heather Mode Memorial ACart Award
This award is given each year to the President of the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario. Dick Flynn, President of ACart Equipment, wanted to encourage M.D.R.A.O. members to get involved in executive positions and take on the role of President.
