Sigma Chapter Report

Hello everyone,

Our Sigma Chapter Education Day is approaching quickly on May 8, 2018. It will be an exciting day for all members and non-members. We have a fantastic lineup of presenters beginning Saturday morning at 0830  The day includes breakfast, lunch and education. Topics will include a CSA Game Show presented by 3M; New Medical Device Reprocessing Standard Z314 by Colleen Landers; Alejandra Silva will be presenting on behalf of STERIS Canada and Jane Smallwood will discuss New Developments in Endoscope Reprocessing.

This year is our MDRAO election year and we are proud to have nominations submitted for all positions. The Sigma Chapter Executive level is an opportunity for members to get involved, gain knowledge and be a part of something bigger within their profession. If you are interested in helping our members increase their knowledge and skills and advance their careers, please contact your Sigma Chapter President, Sara Roberts, by email.

Our next chapter meeting is planned for June 19, 2018, from 1330-1500 on the topic of Management of Patients suspected or known to have Classic Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease. This chapter meeting and education session will be hosted via OTN. The event number and additional information will follow.

As always, we are very thankful for all our long-time standing members as well as our ever-growing numbers of new members. As of February 2018, the Sigma Chapter has 90 members including technicians, managers and associates.
