Tammy Bennardo - President

Tammy is the Supervisor at Sault Area Hospital’s Medical Device Reprocessing Department. She has been working in health care for 22 years and 11 of them in Medical Device Reprocessing. Tammy has her MDRAO certification, Olympus CERT and CMDRT, from CSA.

Tammy is the President of the THETA chapter and has served on the executive since 2007. She has served as Secretary, Treasurer, Chapter Representative and Vice President for the THETA Chapter. She is very proud to work and serve in Northern Ontario and feels she has brought the North Eastern perspective to the Provincial table.

Tammy has been very active in MDR education and has taught the MDRAO Techniques Course and is currently a facilitator for the Online Course. She helped to develop the online course and videos, some of which were filmed in the SAH MDRD in Sault Ste. Marie. She is proud of the MDRAO online course and its Canadian textbook and workbook which are soon to be available in the French language. As the Canadian Standards are instrumental to MDR, Tammy sits on the CSA Technical Committee.

Ensuring that medical devices are clean and sterilized properly for her family and the patients she serves is the driving force behind her dedication to continuing education and MDRAO.
