A meeting of the Gamma Chapter Executive was held on October 7, 2011, to discuss the upcoming year and what we could do to encourage Chapter members to get involved.
Since some of the executive could not attend the conference, those members who did attend gave an update on what occurred and the changes made to the constitution.
The Gamma Chapter course in February 2011/2012 is in Ottawa at the General Campus and there are over 70 people enrolled in the course.
The Gamma Chapter course in 2012/2013 is already being discussed with the Peterborough Reginal Hospital hosting this course.
A TON presentation on Endoscopes- Rigid and Flexible was set up for October 19 at 2 p.m., and all members were notified, Leesa Alexander, chapter secretary sent notification to 31 hospitals. The turnout was less than we expected but the presentation by Chris Grubb and Luc Turcot from ConMed Canada was very informative and focused on the mechanics, how and when damage can occur, as well as the types of damage. Excellent presentation.
Chapter Executives are now discussing a tour of a facility, which was under construction and has made many changes. This will be the site for out next meeting, and we are in the process of finalizing the arrangements. This will be very exciting!
