GAMMA CHAPTER ANNUAL REPORT
APRIL 30, 2012
After beginning my term as President on September 2010, the executive committee sat down and discussed how we could achieve some common ideals; education, increased awareness and participation by members in the Gamma Chapter.
As a result of these discussions we felt it would benefit the Chapter and create interest in having and participating in site visits for our meetings to various institutions within the Chapter. This was accomplished with a site visit to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre and Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
We held an OTN presentation on Rigid and Flexible Endoscopes on October 19th, 2011 given by Chris Grubb and Luc Turcot from ConMed Canada which was very informative and focused on the mechanics and how or when damage can occur as well as the types of damage.
The Executive made several recommendations for constitutional changes which were submitted to the Provincial Executive.
I had the opportunity to attend the AORN 59th Annual Conference in New Orleans which was a first hand experience. To see the number of exhibitors all in one place and all the new technology there was to offer I was impressed. I spent two days from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. viewing the machines and equipment at each booth and taking in the information and presentations offered.

An open discussion on how we could set up education presentations and meetings. All members agreed OTN meetings and presentations would work better for everyone, driving to the meetings was very time consuming and difficult to get time off work to attend.
FINANCIAL REPORT
A balanced budget was submitted and will be sent to CSAO Provincial Executives.
