As I move into the Past President position on the CSAO provincial Executive, I look forward to assisting the new President and executive in their roles over the next two years. Having been on the executive for 12 years, I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience and as Past President, I will be assisting the executive in decisions, Education and conference planning, because as a busy executive, with full-time jobs, we all need support to manage the workload of the CSAO. Passing on the knowledge you gain while having a position on the executive is critical to the association.
It has been a wonderful experience for me on the executive and I have met many, many people who have become close friends of mine. I have travelled to many places presenting on topics for Reprocessing, promoting the association and educating reprocessing students and students who want to join this exciting career.
As I spend the next 2 years sharing my knowledge I will continue to teach the Eta course and talk to as many people as possible about this important career. The safety and well-being of patients who come into our healthcare facilities is our priority, and what we do every day can affect the outcome of a patient's surgery and ultimately affect the life of the patient and their family. Reprocessing staff must realize how important they are every minute of their work day and continue to learn, educate and upgrade their education to keep current with the changes in the Medical Device field.
