Theta Chapter Presidents Annual Report 2014 – Nancy Aelick
Membership Activity
We currently have 117 members in the Theta Chapter. Our Chapter hosts four Meetings combined with Education Days per year, all of this activity is reported in the Education Report submitted by Colleen Landers (attached).
We produced two newsletters this year for the members, in September and December. This newsletter provides the Theta Chapter with upcoming events, meetings, education, CSA Standard updates, CSAO Executive information on Strategic Planning and valuable information and articles to help the frontline workers in their daily routines and the work provided to their facilities.
Incoming Chapter Executive
Congratulations to our incoming Theta Chapter Executive, and a big thank you for putting your names forward to keep the Chapter growing and thriving for the members. Results of Chapter Elections are as follows;

Both Tammy Bennardo and Jeffery Phelps have put their names forward for Theta Chapter Rep at the Provincial Level.
CSAO Annual Conference will be held September 7, 8 & 9, 2014
The Theta Chapter is sending Eight Theta Members to the CSAO Annual Conference. This consists of four Executive members and four members from the chapter. Two members were selected from the Education Incentives and two names were drawn at the Annual Theta Education Day. Nancy Aelick and the successful Theta Chapter rep at the provincial level will be covered by the Provincial Executive.
Education
This year we hosted four meetings through OTN followed with Education Presentations

* November 6th, 2013 – Monitor and Recall, presented by Marta McBurney from 3M
* February 12th, 2014 – Verification presented by Michelle Bellefeuille
* April 9th, 2014 – Challenged in MDRD by Colleen Landers

THETA CLASSROOM COURSE
We currently have 108 students registered for this years’ Classroom Course, May 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th, 2014. Sites for this course being held through Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) are: Timmins, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Barrie. We wish to thank Luanne Sutherland, Michelle Bellefeuill, and Karen Davis for assisting us at our satellite sites.
Dates for 2015 have been approved as May 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th 2015 and sites are Timmins Host site and OTN sites Sudbury, Sault, Orillia, Bracebridge and Thunder Bay
MEMBER INCENTIVES
2013-2014
Members who attend the first three meeting in September, November and February are eligible to attend the Annual Conference. We drew two names for this member incentive. We cover registration, hotel meals and gas with receipts up to a maximum of $1,000 (includes conference fees).This year’s Successful Recipients are: Monique Favron Midland and Helen Blais North Bay.
We drew two Theta members that attended our 5th annual education day and the winners for these draws were Debbie Breadner Bracebridge and Patsy Setchell Sturgeon Falls.
Theta chapter will be sending four Theta members and four Theta executive, Colleen Landers, Tammy Bennardo, Tiffany Lessard and Michelle Bellefeuille so eight total paid for conference fee and travel to $1,000 to the conference. Budget total for 2014 conference is $8,000.
All members that registered their membership before by September 1, 2013, received a token of appreciation from the Theta Chapter.
2014-2015
All Theta technicians and managers that register as CSAO THETA members will be eligible for the following incentives to all 2014-2015 members for this year.
- Register before September 1, 2014, and you will receive from the Theta executive a token of appreciation prior to CS week in October. It will be sent to your facility.
- Be a CSAO Theta Chapter 2014-2015 member, attend 3 OTN education sessions (Sept., Nov., & Feb) and your name will be placed in a draw for 3 free CSAO conference registrations and expenses with receipts totaling $1000.00 per winner. This total includes your conference registration.
- 2013-2014 CSAO members who take a classroom course and achieve 90% or over will be eligible for the Steris award ($1,000) or register for the CSAO recertification, pass and you could be one of 3 winners for the 3-M award. ($300).
- Attend the 6th annual Education Day April 18, be a 2014-2015 Theta member, and your name will go into a draw for a free CSAO Annual Conference September 2015 totaling $1,000 and your 2015-2016 membership will be paid with your registration money only if you attend.
5th Theta Education Day
April 11th and 12th 2014 we hosted our Fifth Theta Education Day at the Best Western Hotel in North Bay. This year we had 52 delegates and 22 vendors and was a great success. Topics included:
