It is hard to believe that another year has gone by. It was a very busy start to our 2014/15 year. I am very proud of the work that the Executive Board has accomplished to date. I would like to take this time to thank them, as well as all of the Chapter Executives across the province who donate so much time for the growth and development of the CSAO. As we continue to transition into another year our membership remains strong. Many thanks for all of your contributions.
We will plan to send another CSAO Survey out to all of our members again in the spring to capture your thoughts as we continue to work through our strategic planning together. We are looking forward to our very first CSAO Annual Meeting to take place via OTN on May 21, 2015, at 5pm, and are very excited to allow all of our members an opportunity to attend locally. Please ensure that all Constitutional Change Forms are into the office by January 16, 2015, to facilitate this change.
As of February 1, 2015, we will have partnered with the Canadian Standards Association, and in doing so, gain much recognition for our educational programs. The launch of our 3rd Edition, Medical Device Reprocessing Manual is scheduled for April of this year. Many colleges across Canada have already expressed their interest to revise their current programs to align with our new text book. We will also be launching our Refresher course across Canada to include an online exam.
If you have not had an opportunity, please check the website to see the updates. We are planning to add additional vendor educational opportunities, and a link to order CSAO items this year that Chapters can provide to our members for MDR week, or otherwise.
Our Annual CSAO Conference this year is titled "Partnering for Success, Raising the Bar in MDR" and is already advertised on the website. We have decided on a sports theme to celebrate the PAN AM Games taking place this summer in Ontario. This year’s conference is planned to celebrate partnering with other organizations to raise awareness of quality patient care with respect to Medical Device Reprocessing. To emphasize the significance of team work and the importance of the role we play on the health care team.
We hope to see you there.
On behalf of the Executive Board, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful, safe, and happy New Year!
Respectfully,
Denise
