On November 6 in Chico, the VINE Food and Agriculture Innovation Meetup North State Edition will be presented by The Verde Innovation Network for Entrepreneurship (The VINE) and BlueTechValley, with co-sponsors Chicostart, Glenn Grows, NoRTEC, and the CSU Chico GIC and CED. This edition will focus on Planning for the Technology Future of Agriculture and Food and Beverage Processing.
One of the event’s objectives is to help build a community to grow technology companies that support regional food and agriculture industries.
At the event you will meet agricultural and food processing companies, farmers, ranchers, faculty, students, technology companies and entrepreneurs to develop connections between farm and processor needs and the ag and food technology companies in the region. If technology is the future of food, let’s build a network so that the Sacramento Valley reaps the benefits such as high paying jobs, environmental improvement and reduced costs for agriculture and food/beverage processing.
More info on speakers and the programming will be added on the event page. The meetup is the first in a series and will focus on understanding the problems that farmers and ranchers and ag/food processors face, the potential technology solutions that can help and where the gaps are between problems, solutions and opportunities. Students will also learn about ways in which they might participate in the future of agriculture and food innovation and technology via jobs or projects.
