Grow, Learn, Connect is the theme of Food Processing Expo 2019 to be held February 12-13 at the Sacramento Convention Center. The deadline to receive the Expo rate at participating hotels is rapidly approaching and ranges from January 20-22, so make your reservations soon. Click here for more information.
Participation in the Food Processing Expo, the largest trade show of its kind in the state, has been growing steadily, increasing by some 20 percent in just the last few years. In 2018, the Expo for the first time exceeded 2,700 in attendees and featured 65 new exhibitors.
Labor & Employment Workshop
A Pre-Expo “Comprehensive Labor & Employment Workshop" will be held February 11. Employment and labor issues affect every business and staying up to date on current regulations and legislation can be challenging and impact your company’s profitability. Participating in this one-day workshop will provide pertinent information on key labor issues such as paid sick leave policies (include usability/enforcement options), human trafficking, immigration – I-9s, wage & hour, Cal Savers Retirement Savings Program (Secure Choice) and more. New for 2019 – The Farm Girl Chef Elisabeth Watkins
New in the Expo Tasting Pavilion this year is Elisabeth Watkins, The Farm Girl Chef. Elisabeth will conduct cooking demonstrations on Wed., Feb. 13, featuring CLFP food processor member products. Elisabeth is a Food Network Chopped Junior winner and holds many other food-related accomplishments. She learned to appreciate food growing up on a sixth-generation family farm near Linden, CA, and acquired culinary skills through 4-H. Elisabeth instructs cooking classes, judges cooking competitions, appears on local television and promotes her passions - agriculture and cooking.
CLFP Board of Directors Meeting
The CLFP Board of Directors will meet during the Expo from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm on February 11 at the Sheraton across the street from the Convention Center.
