CLFP Fall Board of Directors Meeting Recap – October 30, 2024

Highlights included:

Guest Presentation: Gabriel Youtsey from UC Agriculture presented on The VINE project, a new initiative designed to improve efficiency, sustainability, and productivity in California agriculture.

Government Affairs: Benjamin Ebbink from Fisher Phillips, Anthony Samson & Margie Lie from Samson Advisors, and representatives from CLFP, Katie Little & Trudi Hughes, shared crucial updates on labor legislation and regulatory issues, highlighting the political landscape at the Capitol and critical issues impacting the food processing industry.

Scholarship Program: Krissi McIlvenna of CLFP revealed a total of 57 applications were received for the 2024-2025 scholarship season - an all-time record! 23 students have been chosen for awards, set to go out mid-November.

As CLFP and its members move forward, the insights gained from the Fall Board Meeting will play a key role in shaping strategies and initiatives to support the interests of food producers while adapting to the changing regulatory environment. With a unified focus on innovation, sustainability, and excellence, stakeholders are prepared to tackle challenges and capitalize on opportunities, ensuring a thriving future for California's food production industry.
