Food Processing Expo 2015 was held on February 18 & 19 at the Sacramento Convention Center, bringing together over 2,100 industry professionals from across the U.S. and several countries.
This year’s Expo included the ever popular Tasting Pavilion where attendees had the opportunity to sample a variety of food products produced by CLFP processor members, as well as UC Davis, and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. It also included Member and Market Sample Displays, the 7th Annual Vegetable, Fruit and Nut Putting Contest, and valuable industry networking events. Over 250 industry suppliers exhibited cutting-edge equipment, technology and services.
The Expo also hosted a variety of important educational sessions led by industry experts including the pre-expo Sanitation and Food Safety Workshop, and covering topics such as food labeling, workers’ compensation, worker safety, energy emissions and costs, and wastewater. This year’s sessions were highly attended and received positive reviews all around.
The ever popular Supplier Host Council Reception & Silent Auction raised over $25,000 for the CLFP Scholarship Fund, which supports higher education for over 20 California students each year. Mike Montna of the California Tomato Growers was this year’s winner of the Scholle Trip. Congratulations Mike!
