CLFP is exploring the feasibility of launching an increased truck weight demonstration project. At this initial stage, support has been sought and obtained from three organizations as follows:
San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District – The governing Board has voted to support the CLFP project. The District will participate in the effort by advocating for the approval of the pilot program and by providing technical expertise in its design and the analysis of the emission reductions associated with it.
San Joaquin Valley Regional Planning Agencies’ Directors’ Committee – The Directors of the eight counties of the Valley’s "Council of Governments" has voted to support the project as part of the Goods Movement element of their overall plans for improvements in the Valley. Work is underway for liaison with Caltrans and other related organizations.
California Trucking Association – The Board has approved their "Ag Haulers Conference" motion to support the project. The association staff will be helping CLFP with communications with Caltrans’ commercial staff and will be providing technical support and advice on the road wear and tear issue.
