Better Process Control School
August 4-7, 2014
Under the Good Manufacturing Practice regulations for thermally-processed low-acid foods, can closure and processing departments of food industries must be operated under the supervision of a person who has successfully completed a course in the principles of thermal processing and container evaluation, taught by an FDA approved institution.  To assist food industries in complying with the FDA/USDA regulations, a two-day acidified and four-day low-acid Better Process Control School is offered by the Food Science Program at Chapman University in conjunction with the FDA and the Grocery Manufacturers Association.

From Recipe to Retail: An Entrepreneur’s Workshop on Successful Strategies for Bringing a Food Product to Market
Friday and Saturday, September 26-27, 2014
Designed especially for early stage entrepreneurs, this workshop will provide a roadmap for bringing a food product to market. Participants will learn how to start a food business including developing a winning formulation, finding a manufacturer, negotiating with brokers and distributors, writing an effective business plan, obtaining capital backing, and marketing most effectively to ensure that their product will succeed in the marketplace.
