CLFP Educates Legislators on Peach Tour

Members and staff members of the California legislature participated in an educational tour on Aug. 11 of a Pacific Coast Producers peach orchard and processing facility near Oroville, Calif. Participants included Assembly Member James Gallagher, 3rd A.D., who also is vice chair of the Assembly Agriculture Committee. Also participating were Jim Houston, Undersecretary, California Department of Food and Agriculture, and Dee Dee D’Adamo of the California State Water Resources Control Board. In addition to the tour, participants were briefed on current industry issues such as those related to Proposition 65, labor issues, etc. CLFP will conduct additional tours in the future to provide legislators a first hand look at CLFP member operations and to educate them about industry issues.
