The California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) and the Forager Project will hold a workshop on June 22 in Sonoma, CA, about organic certification for food processors and handlers. The workshop is designed for food processing operations interested in expanding into organic production and for existing organic processors who want to learn more about training new staff on how to manage organic certification. The workshop also will be useful for those interested in starting an organic food business. The workshop will begin with CCOF staff reviewing the nuts and bolts of organic certification, followed by successful organic processors explaining the benefits and challenges of going organic.
