Food Processing Expo 2017 to Feature Two CLFP Specialty Workshops
Food Processing Expo 2017 will feature two CLFP in-depth specialty workshops on Feb. 7 that should be of great interest to all food processors.
For 2017, CLFP will hold two general workshops, including a first time
Human Resource Recruiting, Development & Management Workshop. This workshop will focus on problems that many companies are having in filling key vacancies in their operations, and the resources that are available to firms for recruiting, developing and training a quality workforce. Representatives from junior colleges and universities will make presentations, along with panelists with the Workforce Investment Board and Employment Training Panel.
The featured guest speaker will be Dr. Van Tan-Quinlivan, Vice Chancellor of the California Community College System. The afternoon session will focus on human resource regulatory compliance issues, such as wage and hour regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and workers’ compensation issues. Compliance with these issues is complicated and critical, and these expert speakers will provide the current information your company needs to know.
CLFP will also host its popular biennial
Food Processing Facility Sanitation Workshop. Proper sanitation is a critical component of every food safety program. The workshop will provide a great overview of what it takes to have an effective sanitation workshop in your facility. The excellent panel of speakers will cover all the necessary topics, including an introduction to food processing regulations, basic food microbiology, how to clean correctly, selection of cleaning compounds, employee practices, and hygiene and proper verification procedures.
These workshops are open to all food processors and will be an excellent opportunity to get up to speed on these two very important topics. Both workshops will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Sacramento, adjacent to the Sacramento Convention Center Expo site. For more information, please contact Rob Neenan in the CLFP office at
