CLFP will hold a Proposition 65 Workshop on July 11 in Sacramento. The workshop will include an introduction to Proposition 65 legal requirements and regulations and the potential litigation exposure for companies selling food and beverage products in California. Discussion and presentations also will include how Proposition 65 is enforced and how it impacts the food and retail sectors.
A panel will address the most significant Proposition 65 issues impacting the food industry, including regulatory actions regarding naturally occurring levels of lead, the listing of processed meats, and BPA signage, as well as recent enforcement actions and litigation relating to arsenic in rice, acrylamide, furfuryl alcohol, and glyphosate.
This panel also will discuss potential reforms to Proposition 65, including in store signage, digital warnings, enhanced scientific requirements in the listing process, litigation reform, federal preemption, naturally occurring regulatory reform and potential ballot measure to address food issues.
