In January, the California Energy Commission (CEC) released its Notice of Proposed Award (NOPA) for the Food Production Investment Program (FPIP). Of the 33 proposals received, 27 were successful in receiving awards for a total of approximately $60.5 million out of $74 million in available funding. The awardees included five CLFP members receiving six awards totaling $21.5 million.
Approximately $14 million remains available for the second round of solicitations, and the CEC will determine how the funds will be distributed between Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects. The Deadline for Round 2 (if funds remain) is February 28. The blackout period will be lifted for a short time prior to the start of Round 2. If you are planning on applying or are in the process of putting together your application, please make sure any third-party managing your project is aware of the extension.
