The CLFP Annual Board of Directors Meeting was held on April 27-28 at the Vintner’s Resort in Santa Rosa. The vibrant energy and active engagement of the attendees resulted in compelling conversations, featuring some of the most influential figures in the industry, making it a truly exceptional event.
The meeting had a full lineup of speakers. Paul Gosselin with the Department of Water Resources gave the Board an update on the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Anthony Samson with Samson Advisors and Ben Ebbink with FP Advocacy gave presentations on legislation currently being debated at the State Capitol that impacts the food processing industry.
The Board also heard from Mike Plesha with Expense Reduction Analysts about the challenges facing the food processing industry. Gabe Youtsey, Chief Innovation Officer with UC Agriculture and Natural Resources discussed innovations shaping the future of food and agriculture. And Emily Raab, Consulate General of Canada gave a presentation on the Canadian agrifood tech innovation landscape and discussed opportunities for collaboration with CLFP and its members.
The CLFP Board welcomed our newest food processor member Torani! Cindy Eckart, Chief of Product Innovation, was welcomed as the newest member of the Board of Directors. Her expertise and enthusiasm will be valuable assets to our organization as we continue to work towards our political advocacy mission.
One of the highlights of the event was a wine tasting networking event hosted by AVEVA Select – California. Attendees had the opportunity to sample a variety of wines and network with peers from the industry.
Overall, the Annual Board of Directors meeting was a great success, with attendees leaving feeling informed and inspired. Those who missed out on the event are urged to mark their calendars for the October 26th meeting, as it promises to be just as engaging and informative.
