CLFP will hold its 2017 Annual Board of Directors Meeting April 20-21 in Sonoma at The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort & Spa. The meeting will feature several dynamic speakers.
 
 
   
At CLFP's 2017 Food Processing Expo, held Feb. 8-9 at the Sacramento Convention Center, CLFP held a first time Workforce Summit to address the many human resource (HR) issues and challenges facing the food processing industry.
 
CLFP will hold its third annual Washington, D.C., Fly-In March 28-30. This year CLFP is partnering with the Washington, D.C.- based American Fruit and Vegetable Processors and Growers Coalition to plan the event.
 
The CLFP Spring Agricultural Production Committee met March 9-10 at the Monterey Tides Hotel in Monterey. A wide variety of speakers were featured at the meeting, including Dennis Donahue, the former mayor of Salinas, who now works with the Westerns Growers' Center for Innovation & Technology. Agriculture is a $9 billion industry in the Salinas Valley.

The legislative deadline to introduce new legislation for the California Legislature 2017 regular session was February 17. A total of 2,652 bills were introduced. CLFP staff is combing through these bills and have identified at least 200 measures that have potential impact on the food processing industry.
