CLFP saw an increase in both exhibitors, including many exhibiting for the first time, and attendees at Food Processing Expo 2018, held February 21-22 at the Sacramento Convention Center.
 
 
   
CLFP will hold its 2018 Annual Board of Directors Meeting April 19-20 in Anaheim at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. CLFP will honor outgoing chair Janet Edwards of the Musco Family Olive Co. and announce its new slate of officers.
 
Several CLFP Committees will meet in May, and CLFP will host a Proposition 65 Workshop in July.

Last, week, President Trump announced new import tariffs on steel and aluminum that will likely affect the cost of cans and other packaging. CLFP is working with the Can Manufacturers Institute and other stakeholders on this issue.
 
A new trade agreement resulting from the now defunct Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) was recently signed in Santiago Chile.
