Food Processing Expo 2020 held in Santa Clara, Feb. 12-13, was a success, garnering a large crowd with well-attended and topical educational workshops, dynamic keynote speakers and a first-time Technology & Innovation Showcase. The 2021 Expo will return to Sacramento.

CLFP will host two food processing member events in June in Sacramento. A Capitol Day/Legislative Affairs Forum will be held on June 2. CLFP will co-host a Water Issues Forum with CLFP affiliate member Downey Brand on June 16.

In January, the California Energy Commission released its Notice of Proposed Award (NOPA) for the Food Production Investment Program. Of the 33 proposals received, 27 were successful in receiving awards for a total of approximately $60.5 million out of $74 million in available funding. The awardees included five CLFP members receiving six awards totaling $21.5 million.
