As readers may recall from last month’s legislative update, the 2023-2024 Legislative Session ended on August 31, 2024. Governor Newsom had until September 30 to sign or veto any bills that had made it to his desk. Ultimately, the governor signed 807 bills and vetoed 183 bills. Most bills will go into effect as of January 1, 2025.
