July 1 was the deadline for California Legislative Policy Committees to hear bills in their second house and marked the beginning of the Legislative summer recess. Several key labor, water, energy and recycling bills that CLFP has been actively engaged on have either advanced from or been held in these policy committees.

Leading California food processors met with key California legislators on June 21 to urge them to act on bills that would help support a favorable business environment for the state’s food processing industry. The meetings were part of CLFP's eight annual Capitol Day on June 21. Bills discussed included those related to labor, water, energy and the environment.
