Registration for both exhibitors and attendees is now open for Food Processing Expo 2019, which will be held February 12-13 at the Sacramento Convention Center. Registration is ongoing for CLFP’s Fall Board of Directors Meeting to be held Thursday, October 25, at the Hilton in Stockton. The meeting will feature a new one-day format and also will be held for the first time the day before CLFP’s Annual Supplier Host Council Golf Tournament. The meeting is open to all CLFP board of directors members.

The FDA is amending its food additive regulations in response to two food additive petitions, to no longer allow for the use of a total of seven synthetic flavoring substances and flavor enhancers (adjuvants). The FDA determined that the data presented in one of the petitions submitted by a number of consumer groups show that six of these materials caused cancer in laboratory animals under the conditions of the studies. The seventh synthetic flavor is being de-listed because it is no longer used by industry.
