Julian Pavier has been an NHS Consultant Podiatric surgeon since 2001, and he has practicing privileges at The Park Hospital and The Lincoln Hospital. He has an interest in pathology of the 1st MTP joint (big toe joint), including Hallux Valgus (bunion) and Hallux Rigidus (arthritis of big toe joint) as well as performing many revision surgeries for previously failed Hallux Valgus surgeries. Mr. Pavier also has an interest in injection therapy for painful joints and Morton’s Neuroma, and he also offers surgical excision or decompression surgery for this extremely painful condition.
Mr. Pavier has always had a desire to give back to the profession and has been an active surgical tutor for many years. He has also acted as examiner and been a member of the examinations board of the College of Podiatry. He was a faculty board member for seven years and acted as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Surgery and held the position of Chair of the Northern Deanery for three years.
Mr. Pavier enjoys teaching and has lectured both Nationally and Internationally on various subjects including Morton’s Neuroma and Hallux Valgus correction. He likes to invest his time in training junior Podiatric Surgeons and has lectured at the National Podiatry Conference over the last five years on Hallux Valgus and has led workshops on Osteotomy techniques for Hallux Valgus and skin suturing workshops. Mr. Pavier has been a visiting lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University where he led on the Anatomy dissection module on the MSc in Theory of Podiatric Surgery and was also a visiting lecturer and examiner for Huddersfield University on the MSc in Theory of Podiatric Surgery on the anatomy and radiology modules.
Outside of work, Julian enjoys Masters swimming and is the current British Masters open water age group champion for 3km, and he is also Regional Masters Champion for the 2km open water. Julian is competing in the World Masters Championship 2024 in Doha.
