Multiple times per week, a practitioner will encounter a patient who asks questions regarding how onychomycosis developed in their nails and/or discusses a home remedy found on the internet that is supposed to clear onychomycosis. Any nail specialist, whether dermatologist or podiatric physician, can name a litany of the possibly logical and illogical “cures” that one will find displayed with a simple internet search.
