What do we do?
The Marketing & Communications Committee, otherwise known as “MarComm,” serves as liaisons to the MPI Chicago Area Chapter event committees. We help create and execute the event committees' marketing plans, ensuring all collateral meets the guidelines set forth by the chapter.
We also manage the chapter’s social media platforms to help to increase exposure for chapter events, building brand awareness and loyalty, and grow audience engagement.
In addition, we produce a monthly e-newsletter, To the Po!nt, providing relevant news and updates about the meeting and events industry. Duties may include researching creative content ideas; creating graphics or video; supporting content strategy, analytics, and audience engagement goals; writing and publishing digital newsletter articles for MPI Chicago Area Chapter’s website; scheduling and managing the chapter’s social media post requests; or guiding committees as they develop their event marketing and communication plans.

With approximately ten members on the committee, we can certainly use some extra help! We have plenty of roles open, including committee liaisons for Membership, IDEA, Education Programs, Leadership & Development, Partnership Development, and Signature Luncheon. In addition, we also could use help with content creation.
We have a monthly online meeting on the second Wednesday of the month that is scheduled for one hour. Recently, we decided to make an effort to host the meetings in-person in the future, with our first in-person meeting happening on August 28 in downtown Chicago!
