As the industry continues to monitor and adjust to COVID-19, we would like to assure you that MPI Chicago Area Chapter is doing the same. With the recent developments of COVID-19 and the CDC’s recommendations for events, we are hopeful that in the coming months we will have the opportunity to gather together again as a community. It was my first real networking experience that introduced me to the top professionals of our industry on a level playing field. I recently rejoined last year in search of connections to build my corporate event network ... then I was put to work right away on the Annual Awards Recognition Celebration Committee! This spotlight is pretty exciting! I'm also loving the collaboration and creativity that comes from being on a committee. The 2020 AARC is going to be amazing!"

The best way to get the most out of your MPI-CAC membership is by joining a committee. It’s a great way to network, utilize your skills or challenge yourself to try something new! We know everyone has busy schedules, but many of our committees have a variety of tasks that can be done in just one hour a month!

What is your committee responsible for?

Securing host venues and assisting event committees and DPS (management company) with their sponsorship needs.

How often does your committee meet?

Once a month – every second Wednesday of the month.

What are some tasks people do for your committee?

Secure in-kind sponsorships for events, secure raffle prizes and silent auction items for events, and act as sponsorship liaison to event committees and external partners and sponsors.

What makes your committee fun or stand out?

Our committee won the Committee of the Year Awards in June 2019, and all volunteers stayed on for a second year in a row, while also recruiting brand new volunteers as well.
